They Have Time: Update On Drew McIntyre’s WWE Contract Status

Not just yet. There are several wrestlers on the WWE roster but it can be difficult to keep track of everyone’s status. Every so often, someone is going to have some issues behind the scenes and it can cause lead to some problems. That is the case at the moment with a major WWE star and now we know a bit more about what is going on and where things could be going.

Earlier this year, Drew McIntyre took a hiatus from WWE following WrestleMania 39 over his contract status, though he has since returned to WWE television. Dave Meltzer spoke about McIntyre’s contract situation on Wrestling Observer Radio and said he did not believe that McIntyre had signed a new deal with WWE. At the same time, McIntyre’s current deal has been expended until April 2024 due to his time off. If McIntyre has not signed a new deal, there are still several months before the two sides have to come to terms.

Opinion: This is one of those things that is going to have to be solved sooner or later, as WWE losing McIntyre would be a huge loss. He is one of their most established names and someone who could be in the main event scene again at the drop of a hat. There is a strong change that McIntyre will stick around in WWE, but if he doesn’t, another promotion will get a heck of a top star.
