Last week, WWE released a group of wrestlers (Jinder Mahal, Xia Li, Xyon Quinn, Sanga and Veer). According to Fightful Select by way of Cagesideseats.com, the wrestlers were released due to a combination of how long they have been with the company, a lack of upward trajectory and a lack of creative options for them. According to internal WWE sources though, the releases were said to be due to budget cuts. There is no word on if more releases are scheduled.

Opinion: This is one of those things that might not make a lot of sense on the surface but it does make for a rough stretch. There are all kinds of talented wrestlers on the WWE roster but there is only so much time for them to go around. I’m not sure how much of a chance those wrestlers could have had, but at the end of the day, they were cut off before being given one more shot.
