I’d call that an upgrade. While you might not hear about them in WWE, there are a lot of other wrestling promotions in the world. Some of them are not all that big and that can cause some issues for the wrestlers. Most wrestlers do not work full time for a single promotion and have to jump around in order to make a living. Several wrestlers work regular jobs in addition to wrestling and even then the financial aspects might not line up. However, one wrestler is doing a lot better than he was just a year ago.

Over the summer, NXT held its first ever Breakout Tournament, featuring eight wrestlers who had never before appeared on NXT TV. The idea was to showcase a wide variety of wrestlers who needed some exposure and could offer something fresh to the television product. It was a fine idea and the NXT fans saw some new faces, including a big man named Bronson Reed. As it turns out, Reed needed some help of his own and has since gotten it.

Reed posted a message to Twitter, telling a story about how he had a single penny in his bank account on Christmas Day 2018. Now a year later he was wrestling on national television on Christmas Day 2019 and spent the holidays in New York City with his wife. Reed wrestled a match against Dominick Dijakovic on Wednesday’s show, which was taped the previous Friday. The Tweet included photos both of the match and his bank account from a year ago.

It was a heck of a match too. Check out Dijakovic vs. Reed:

Opinion: That’s quite the story and something that Reed can be very proud of. He really has come a long way in just a year and it’s great to see that he never gave up on anything. It’s a rather inspirational message and story, which is a cool thing to see at any point, especially this time of year. Reed has been impressive in the ring as well, so hopefully this doesn’t happen again.

Have you liked Reed so far? Who from the tournament will have the brightest future? Let us know in the comments below.
