That’s certainly a surprise. Earlier today, news broke that Becky Lynch would be out of her Survivor Series match with Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey due to a series of injuries. This left a major hole in the Survivor Series card as Rousey vs. Lynch was going to be one of the biggest matches on the entire card. We now have a replacement, and it’s quite the pick.
This week on SmackDown Live, Lynch selected Charlotte to take her place against Rousey on Sunday. Charlotte was the most recent SmackDown Women’s Champion and the woman that Lynch defeated for the title. Rousey vs. Charlotte has long been rumored as a WrestleMania 35 match and even a possible main event with the recent announcement that Roman Reigns will be off the card.
The brawl that led to the injuries.
Opinion: Well ok then. I’m not wild on having this match take place so early on, but there’s a good chance that it’s going to end in some kind of a screwy finish, which would allow them to do the rematch later on. If that’s the case, it’s not the worst decision in the world but it is something that initially makes you scratch your head. Either way, the match should be excellent, at least from the atmosphere surrounding it.
