That’s certainly a WWE style shock. As we come up on Survivor Series, we’re in kind of a weird place. Things have been changing all over the place and it’s hard to keep up with everything going on at the moment. The rosters are changing for every Survivor Series match and the only thing that seems to be a lock is AJ Styles vs. Brock Lesnar in the champion vs. champion match. Well maybe not actually.

This week on SmackDown Live, Daniel Bryan defeated AJ Styles to become the new WWE Champion. Bryan took advantage of the referee being down and kicked Styles low, setting up the running knee to win the title. After the match was over, Bryan stomped Styles in the head and cradled the title to end the show. Bryan is now set to face Lesnar on Sunday at Survivor Series.

Here’s how it all got started.

Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles brawl over respect: SmackDown LIVE, Nov. 13, 2018

Opinion: I’m still not sure what to think of this but the more I think about it, the more I like it. Bryan was still getting cheered but it was nowhere near what he had been receiving before. That’s going to happen with that many years off and since Styles has already run through almost every major heel on the show, it makes sense to have a new one take the title. This should take us somewhere interesting going forward.

What do you think of the title change? Should Bryan have turned? Let us know in the comments below.
