That Time That Guy Drank The Undertaker's Tobacco Spit for $7000

I doubt it was worth it. So do you remember Gross Tommy Dreamer? In the middle of 2002, about a year after the original ECW went out of business, a bunch of ECW guys, including Dreamer, didn’t really have much to do in WWE despite being under contract. Most of them were just wrestlers but Dreamer was given a gimmick: he was gross and would eat/drink gross things, such as hair from a barber shop, moose and…..the Undertaker’s tobacco spit.

During his recent appearance on “Under the Mat Radio”, Dreamer mentioned that he was paid $7,000 to drink the contents of the cup and got to wrestle Undertaker a few times as a bonus. It’s not clear if he was paid extra to drink and eat the rest of the stuff he was given at the time but one can only hope.

I….what am I even supposed to say about something like this? Dreamer is a big fan favorite, especially to the eternally loyal ECW fans but what is there to say here? The gimmick was disturbing and felt like trying to force the Attitude Era and that’s not exactly the best idea in the world. Thankfully it didn’t last long and is mostly forgotten because it’s a rather disturbing period of time.
