Chris Jericho in a Cage is No Match For These Gimmicks

On RAW, Mick Foley announced that at Royal Rumble Kevin Owens will defend his Universal Title against Roman Reigns, with one notable stipulation. Chris Jericho will be suspended in a cage above the ring to keep him from interfering. This may seem like an odd gimmick, but there have been much odder. In fact, WWE put together a video that showcased some of WCW’s shall we say…stranger gimmicks.

WCW had many great matches, but they also had some real stupid gimmick matches over the years. In fact, this list doesn’t even include the infamous “Judy Bagwell on a Pole” match. There are a couple “on a pole” matches in this video, but they are tame in comparison to some of the others. Behold, a match that ended with Abdullah the Butcher being “electrocuted” in an electric chair! Beyond that, a monster truck matchup between the Hulkster and The Giant (aka Big Show) that included The Giant falling off the roof of an arena and surviving.

Whatever you think of Chris Jericho being put in a cage high above the ring, it can never be as silly as these five matches.
