I was hoping we could avoid this. It seems that “Survivor Series 2016” will be joining “Wrestlemania XXXII” and “Summerslam 2016” as Big Four pay per views to run four hours. According to WWE.com, the show will be starting at 7pm EST. WWE pay per views end around 11pm EST and will include a one hour Kickoff Show, pushing the whole night to five hours total.

This is actually one of the shortest Big Four shows this year as “Wrestlemania XXXII” had a two hour pre-show and then ran four hours, just like “Summerslam 2016”. “Royal Rumble 2016” ran about three hours and had a one hour Kickoff Show, though there’s a very good chance that it will expand next year as well.

Of course they’re doing this. I’m really not a fan of these extended pay per views as they rarely need to be extra long. The other problem is the fans getting burned out. It takes a very special show to keep fans entertained for five hours straight and I don’t know if WWE is capable of pulling it off. The “Survivor Series 2016” card is stacked but I’m not sure if it’s stacked enough for the extra time.

Are you a fan of the pay per views expanding by an extra hour? Do you prefer more matches or longer matches? Let us know in the comments below.
