We’ll hold a place for you. The biggest wrestling story of the last week has been the tragic death of Jon Huber, better known as Brodie Lee. Since then, a series of tributes have come in to Lee, who certainly seems to have been heavily respected and loved by any wrestler who worked with him. That was the case with one name in particular who had a history with Lee. Now we know a bit more about his future.

The entire edition of this week’s AEW Dynamite was a tribute to Lee and included a surprise appearance from Erick Redbeard, better known as Erick Rowan, who was Lee’s partner during their time in WWE. Redbeard made a save on the show and then held up a sign in Lee’s memory. It was Redbeard’s AEW debut, which brings up the question about what is next for him.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is no deal between Redbeard and AEW and he will not be appearing for the company going forward. His appearance earlier this week was a one off for the sake of the Lee tribute show. However, there is always the chance that the two sides could decide to work together again in the future. Redbeard was released from WWE in April 2020.

I could see why they would want him back. Check out what Redbeard did in his AEW appearance:

Opinion: Redbeard’s appearance was both a surprise and very emotional, but at the same time, it might be better to not have him come into AEW full time. At the end of the day, AEW has a very crowded roster, including a good deal of big men. There comes a point where they need to just stop pushing in so many people and Redbeard might be part of the cut off point.
