Storm break? The NXT women’s division has come a long way in recent months and a lot of that is due to the new talent being brought in. One of the biggest changes has involved the addition of some wrestlers from NXT UK, which has turned into an unofficial developmental brand for the developmental brand. Some of these starts come in to NXT ready to go and that is the case with someone who just changed things up a bit.
Every now and then you see a star debut right before your eyes and that is the case with Toni Storm. After winning the 2018 Mae Young Classic, Storm went on to become the second NXT UK Women’s Champion. Storm has since moved over to the regular UK and seems to be a permanent fixture on the roster going forward. That means she can be a little more developed, which took place this week.
During this week’s NXT, Storm turned heel for the first time in WWE, attacking Ember Moon after initially coming out to help her. The attack allowed Raquel Gonzalez, Dakota Kai and Candice LeRae, who had just beaten Moon in a match, to beat Moon down even further. Later in the show, LeRae announced that Storm, Gonzalez and Kai will comprise her WarGames team.
It was a big surprise. Check out how the match went and Storm’s explanation for what she did:
Opinion: This is a move that could make things more interesting as you have so many talented women in NXT that it is nice to have someone new added into the mix. Storm has shown what she can do and it could be interesting to see her doing something new in this different environment. WarGames is looming too and a ticked off Moon wanting revenge inside the cages could make for some great violence.
