The state of the Smackdown. “Smackdown Live” has a lot of momentum at the moment as they’re fresh off the “2018 Royal Rumble” with Shinsuke Nakamura winning the men’s Royal Rumble and earning a World Title shot at “Wrestlemania XXXIV”. That should be enough to get the TV show off on the right foot for the coming week, but there was some big competition this time around.
According to 411mania.com, this week’s episode of “Smackdown Live” drew a .76 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.509 million viewers. These numbers are down 5% and 3% respectively from last week’s .80 rating and 2.57 million viewers. The show was up against the State of the Union speech, which aired on multiple networks.

Opinion: These aren’t the worst numbers when you consider the opposition programming being on so many networks. The show didn’t go down that much and they were able to retain a lot of their audience, which isn’t surprising on a show dealing with the fallout from Sunday’s “Royal Rumble 2018”.
