It can work. Wrestlers have tried their hand at acting for a very long time now with various levels of success. Some wrestlers are successful and have quite the run in the acting world. At the same time, there are wrestlers who only dabble here and there in some special moments. WWE stars still do it to this day and now one of the bigger names has done it again.

This weekend, SmackDown star Sheamus appeared on CBS’ NCIS Los Angeles where he was in a fight scene with LL Cool J’s character. WWE does not mention the appearance on its own television shows. Sheamus has dabbled in acting over the years, with his most prominent role as Rocksteady in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows”. Sheamus is currently set to challenge Gunther for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 39 in a triple threat match also involving Drew McIntyre.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that works out well for some wrestlers but you never know what you are going to see. Sheamus has a very unique look and is someone who can appear intimidating whenever he is on screen. I can get why he would be able to be cast as a heavy or intimidating guy and that seems to be what he has done for most of his acting career. Good for him for getting a spot like this though, as it is fairly high profile.
