A way around it. Wrestling retirements are some of the most difficult things to make work in the industry as so many wrestlers have trouble officially hanging it up. You will see wrestlers stick around for a long time by coming back for one match after another. Now modern wrestling is offering even another different option and it could be a way for a legend to get back in the game.

WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle lost his retirement match at WrestleMania 35 and has not wrestled since. During a recent edition of the Kurt Angle Show, Angle talked about the Boneyard Match between AJ Styles and Undertaker at WrestleMania 36. The cinematic match was pre-taped in advance, with Angle saying that he would “be game for that”.

Angle said that while he would not want to do it every year but if he was going to do a match, he would want it recorded in advance so he could do every spot when he was ready. He did say that having a match that was “cheating a little bit”, but it could still work. There is nothing to suggest that Angle, 54, is planning to return to the ring for anyone in any fashion.

WWE has had some great cinematic matches. Check out some of them, plus what Angle could do in the ring:

Opinion: While I’m not sure I want to see Angle get back in the ring in any way, this is about as good of an idea as he could have. Angle’s body was long since giving out on him during the end of his career and there is nothing to suggest that would be getting any better. Doing everything in advance would be a different way to go, but that does not mean it would work.

What do you think of the idea? Who could Angle face in such a match? Let us know in the comments below.
