That’s a long time off. The injury bug has been going insane this year in WWE with one name after another being put on the shelf, often for a long time. Some of these cases can be a lot worse than some others though. There is a case of it at the moment with a former World Champion going on the injured list and in this case, he’s going to be there for quite a long time.
According to Fightful.com, Jinder Mahal is scheduled to be out of action with a knee injury until January 1, 2020. Mahal was injured in June and underwent surgery for his injury. His most recent match took place at a house show on June 15. Before being injured and going on the shelf, Mahal had been used on television sporadically and was often seen chasing R-Truth and the 24/7 Title.
Mahal does have some big matches. Check out one of them from last year:
Opinion: I know Mahal isn’t someone who does a lot in WWE since the end of his long WWE Title reign, but he is still someone with some name value. If nothing else, he is someone who can be thrown out there as a jobber to the stars every few weeks. He might not be the most popular guy in the world, but it’s a shame when anyone has to go on the shelf for this long.
What can Mahal offer to WWE? What should he do when he gets back? Let us know in the comments below.
