Scheduling Fun: News On Why WWE Is Holding The Draft As They Are

It was on purpose. We are done with WrestleMania 39 but WWE is still coming up with different things that keep a lot of their momentum going. The company is now starting to come up with different things to focus on that could change the way its future goes. One of those is coming up in the next few weeks, and it turns out that there was a specific reason for the scheduling.

Earlier this month, WWE announced that it will be holding its annual Draft in the coming weeks. It has since been confirmed that the Draft will take place on Friday April 28 and Monday May 1. According to Fightful Select, these dates were picked due to the NFL Draft, which will be taking place from April 27-29. The report states that it was “not an accident” that the dates lined up.

Opinion: The WWE Draft being tied around the same dates as the NFL Draft makes sense as WWE and its broadcasting partners like being compared to more mainstream sports. This could be quite the shakeup for WWE and I’m curious to see what they are going to be doing this year. If nothing else, there is the chance that some NXT names could be coming up and that is a huge deal all around.
