The next logical step. There are a few storylines that are going to be around forever in wrestling. Sometimes you see the same things over and over and that isn’t the worst thing in the world. Various stories are going to work almost every time, albeit to differing levels of impact. A lot of the classics are still around today and we might be seeing another one of them soon.
Apollo Crews has been on fire for the last month or so, though it hadn’t led to many major victories. Then he finally broke through to the next level by defeating MVP to qualify for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Crews tried to take another step by challenging for the United States Title but injured his knee in the process. This took him out of the ladder match, and now we might know his next step.
Wrestlingnews.co is reporting that Crews is scheduled to turn heel soon due to frustration with his career being stuck. This would be the second planned heel turn for Crews, who was scheduled to turn on Chad Gable on SmackDown until Vince McMahon moved him to Monday Night Raw instead. There is no word on how Crews will turn, but there is a chance that he could join MVP’s stable.
Crews needs the chance to be the breakout star. Check out some of his recent work:
Opinion: I could see this working as Crews’ biggest issue has been a lack of character development and direction. He has been on the main roster for four years now and almost nothing has come of it. The talent and skills are there but for some reason, nothing has managed to work. Maybe this is the big answer for solving his issues, but maybe there are bigger problems than can be solved at the moment.
