It’s a long form rematch. Above all over WWE shows, WrestleMania is built on history. There have been so many shows over the years and WWE’s obsession with WrestleMania Moments and huge historical events taking place at the show makes it even more complex. Some of these moments are revisited in the future, and that may be the case this year with a bit of a flashback match.

One of the best things that WWE has done in the last ten years or so is the rise of Daniel Bryan. The long form story saw Bryan rise up to a solid career as a singles wrestler and then all the way to the main event, capped off by his triumph at WrestleMania 30. There were some bumps along the way though, and that is where WWE may be revisiting at this year’s WrestleMania.

According to Wrestlingnews.co, WWE is considering having Bryan face Sheamus in a rematch from their WrestleMania 28 match. The previous match saw Sheamus defeat Bryan in 18 seconds to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. This comes after Sheamus has returned from injury and targeting smaller wrestlers, such as Shorty T. and Apollo Crews.

Blink and you’ll miss it. Check out the first Sheamus vs. Bryan match:

Opinion: I’m not sure about this but it’s the kind of thing that could be interesting. If nothing else, Sheamus picking on smaller wrestlers could bring Bryan over to stand up to them and that has some potential. I’m not sure how this is going to wind up going, but it’s better than some of the other things that could be done, like throwing both of them in the battle royal and hoping for the best.
