I’d call that star power. There are very few wrestlers who truly make a huge impact these days. Some will make an impact, but it is incredibly rare to see someone come in and really shake things up. That was the case back in 2018 when Ronda Rousey showed up and she rode that initial reception to the highest point women’s wrestling had ever seen. So what about round two?
In 2019, Rousey defended her Raw Women’s Title in a losing effort in the main event of WrestleMania 35, marking the first time that a women’s match headlined the biggest show of the year. It was the kind of match that changed the way women’s wrestling could be viewed forever. Since then though, Rousey has not appeared on WWE TV and has basically disappeared from wrestling. That may be starting to change.
On Wednesday, Cain Velasquez sent out a tweet saying that he ran into Rousey at WWE Headquarters. There is no word on why Rousey was there and there has been no news suggesting that she is interested in getting back in the ring anytime soon. Rousey is still under contract to WWE and could come back at any time she wants to, though there has been no indication that she is interested at the moment.
Had the pleasure of running into the pioneer that definitely also inspired my interest in the sport. Great to see you @rondarousey. @wwe pic.twitter.com/IipeX4ZK1Y

Rousey wasn’t around long but she did make an impact. Check out some of her bigger moments:
Opinion: I’m not sure if Rousey is ever going to come back to the ring but it’s not like there is a short window for her to do so. She seems to be at the point where she can do whatever she wants to and that is a nice place for her to be. Rousey came into WWE, made a huge impact, and got out before she overstayed her welcome. That’s a rare thing to pull off and maybe she can come out there again one day and do it all over again. If not, she did about as well as you can do in a year and that’s quite the accomplishment.
