Roman Reigns Doesn’t Care if People Boo Him

Well he certainly has experience with it. There’s no secret to the fact that Roman Reigns isn’t the most popular wrestler in the world at the moment. Fans don’t seem to like him most of the time, even though he’s presented as the biggest star in WWE. Have you ever wondered what Reigns thought of that?

Roman Reigns lays into absent, “entitled” Brock Lesnar: Raw, Feb. 26, 2018

Reigns recently appeared on “Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg” and spoke on the fans’ perceptions of him and why he doesn’t care. In recent weeks, Reigns has been presented as the man of the people who loves to be in a WWE ring. This is different than his upcoming opponent Brock Lesnar, who rarely appears on WWE TV and only shows up for his paychecks. Here are some comments with transcription courtesy of Wrestlinginc.com:

On Fans Booing Him

“I think there is a lot of different things you can chalk it up to I’m sure. In life, everyone wants to see you do good, but not too good, you know what I mean? Once you pass that threshold of doing really well for major success, then I think the questions, possible jealousy come out and that is when negativity starts showing its face, but if you are strong in your convictions and know who you are, you have to be bulletproof to that.”

And on Getting a Reaction No Matter What

“I think it is still a very strong reaction. I have always been that way though. Before anyone knew who I was, I’m either the type of person, which I don’t know if it’s because of how I carry myself, how I talk, but you either like me or you don’t,” he said. “There is not much gray area with me. You’re either with me, or you don’t like me.”

Opinion: These reactions aren’t the biggest secret in the world. The fans aren’t interested in cheering for Reigns and there’s no way around it. That being said, they’ve done a good job of trying to make the fans care. Reigns has to know this is the reality he faces every night and it’s kind of interesting to see how he reacts to them.

Maybe he cares about this.
