Take two. Earlier tonight on the Roadblock: End of the Line Kickoff Show, Rusev defeated Big Cass in a short match via countout. The ending, with Cass losing due to checking on his downed buddy Enzo Amore, would suggest that a rematch was in the making. It turns out that it was a short making as the rematch has already been announced for this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

It’s appropriate that Amore was the reason for the match ending as he started this in the first place. Amore made an attempt to sleep with Rusev’s wife Lana, who it turned out was baiting him into a trap. Rusev destroyed Amore and Cass is standing up for his little buddy, setting up the match as a result.
This was pretty obvious but the big idea here was to keep Cass looking strong in defeat. I still think the end result of this should be Cass/Amore vs. Lana/Rusev in a mixed tag for the sake of comedy if nothing else. Just imagine Amore trying to train to fight Lana with all the comedy that could come as a result. Cass doesn’t need to beat Rusev but he can’t look weak in defeat.
