If you take away the other sports, they will come (back). The “Monday Night Raw” ratings took one heck of a hit during the NBA Playoffs and an even bigger one during the NBA Finals. While the numbers were down across the board, the question became what would happen once the basketball was over. If last night’s results are any indication, the answer is a positive sign for WWE.
According to 411mania.com, last night’s episode saw huge jumps in both ratings and overall viewers. This week brought in a 1.07 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.123 million viewers, up 24% and 23% from last week. These numbers are the best in nine weeks, which shouldn’t be the biggest surprise as the show from June 3, which also didn’t go against any basketball, was the highest in six weeks.
Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise. Mainstream sports are always going to defeat WWE as you can catch the wrestling results later while seeing bigger sports live feels much more important to most fans. The fact that the fans came back after the NBA was gone is a great sign for the company.
