It was a different time. There have been a lot of changes to WWE in recent months, with some of them making the company different in ways never thought of before. This is not the first time that has happened in recent years, as during the Coronavirus pandemic, the show took place in an empty arena at the WWE Performance Center. Now we know an interesting story from a former WWE wrestler about a special event at the venue.

Former WWE star Steph de Lander, known as Persia Pirotta during her time in WWE, was recently interviewed by Vice Australia & New Zealand. During the interview, de Lander revealed that WWE held a special event for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and his children during the pandemic. De Lander said that they were called in on a Saturday to do the show, though she did not mention any other wrestlers on the card. DeSantis approved WWE being able to run weekly events in Florida during the pandemic.
That’s a story. Check out the interview, plus de Lander in WWE and some time from the pandemic:
Opinion: I’m not sure what to make of something like this, but at the end of the day, WWE had little way around doing a show like this if DeSantis wanted it to happen. Without DeSantis, WWE could have been in a lot of trouble during the pandemic, but ultimately they did find a way around the whole thing. It might not have been the best choice, but it made sense for WWE at the time.
