The Plan All Along? What Was Set For Bayley Before Sasha Banks Left WWE?

What was in the cards? A lot has changed in WWE over the last few months. We have seen various wrestlers and stories getting fresh chances to see what can happen with them, including a few of them receiving a career resurgence. One such person is Bayley, who has gone from a long running story with Sasha Banks to being the SmackDown Women’s Champion. But was that always the plan?

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bayley was always planned to receive a major push towards the title whether or not Banks left. The team was always going to split up with Bayley receiving her push. There is no word on what would be taking place with Banks or how the team would have split. At the moment, it is not clear if or when Banks will be back in WWE.

Opinion: This is a good sign for Bayley, who has been spinning her wheels for what seems like years now. She has been a bit more serious as of late and maybe that has been the solution to her problems the entire time. Hopefully this continues to be the case as she has a lot of repair work to be done, though the idea of Charlotte taking the title from her at Summerslam is hard to escape.
