They ate up time. There are several WWE television shows every single week and as a result, the company has quite a few hours to fill in. That can create some issues but WWE schedules things out to the minute. Most of the time everything works well but there are times when something is just a bit off. That was the situation again this week and now we know how things were changed.

This week’s SmackDown opened with an in-ring segment featuring the Bloodline, with the Rock coming out after the rest of the team had something to say. According to Fightful Select, the segment wound up going over half an hour altogether which was over ten minutes longer than planned. As a result, the Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton match was changed, with Naomi’s entrance being canceled and the match being shortened. It wound up running just over eight minutes.

Opinion: This is something that happens from time to time and there is little that can be done about it. At the end of the day, the Bloodline story is the biggest thing going in WWE today and there is nothing more important. While Stratton vs. Naomi was a good match, it was a match where the time could be sacrificed for the sake of the Bloodline, which is exactly what happened.
