There’s a role for him. There are all kinds of people who help make a wrestling show work and some of them might not be around all the time. You might see them pop up on occasion but they often do their work behind the scenes. A prominent name has recently come back to WWE and made a surprise on-screen appearance, but that does not seem to be the case going forward.

William Regal returned to WWE last year in a front office role. Last month he made a cameo appearance on NXT, naming Ava as the show’s new General Manager. According to Fightful Select, Regal’s main job currently consists of taking notes on matches and going over them with the wrestlers to help them improve. At the moment, there is nothing to suggest that he will be appearing on NXT TV in a full time role, though one off appearances are a possibility.

Regal has a history in NXT. Check out his time there:

Opinion: This is the right way to use someone like Regal as he is both respected and has an incredible mind for wrestling. Having him around as someone who can help develop talent and show them what they might be doing wrong is a good way to go. Regal could be put on television again if needed, but there is something to be said about having him behind the scenes instead, as he could work well there too.
