It would have been bad either way. The transition from NXT up to the main roster can be a tricky move for any wrestler and WWE does not have the best track record. For some reason there are times where the company just can’t seem to get it right no matter what, and that seems to be the case again. This week’s Monday Night Raw saw a change made, but it might not have meant much either way.
You do not see a talent like Keith Lee every day. Lee has an incredible mixture of speed, power, athleticism and charisma that you do not find in almost anyone else. He dominated NXT, becoming the first and so far only man to hold both the North American and NXT Titles at the same time. Things have not gone as well on Monday Night Raw, though WWE did do something to make him look a bit better this week.
According to PWInsider.com, the original plans for this week’s Monday Night Raw called for the Miz to defeat Lee in a singles match. However, at some point during the day, the match was changed to Miz and Morrison vs. Lee instead. Miz and Morrison went on to defeat Lee, who was never booked to win the match in any form. There is no word on why the changed was made.
It could have been worse. Check out how the match went down:
Opinion: This does help Lee in a way as it took more to beat him, but I don’t understand why he needed to lose in the first place. I understand that Miz and Morrison needed the boost to help make Miz look more important as Mr. Money in the Bank, but they couldn’t beat someone else other than Lee? The fact that there probably isn’t another option says a lot about WWE, but it doesn’t say a lot about Lee’s status on Monday Night Raw.
What do you think of the change? What is next for Lee? Let us know in the comments below.
