Now that’s just sad. This week has been packed with news and there are very few stories sadder than Becky Lynch not being able to compete at Survivor Series against Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. The match was one of the most hyped and anticipated for Sunday’s Survivor Series but Lynch was injured on Monday Night Raw, meaning she was put on the shelf. So how did she handle this?
This one is a little rough.
WWE has released a new video, showing Lynch’s reactions after she learned that she wouldn’t be able to wrestle on the show due to her injuries suffered the night before. The video shows Lynch going through the day at SmackDown Live and interacting with various wrestlers before being told about the change. While the announcement isn’t actually shown, her reactions are, as well as being told to pick her replacement. The video is mainly shown from a kayfabe perspective.
Opinion: I can’t say I blame Lynch for being upset. This was one of the biggest matches on the card and the biggest in Lynch’s career. Hopefully the match is going to take place again down the line (and it seems that it’s going to be on an even bigger stage) but egads this was some depressing news to see. I feel sorry for Lynch, who has come so far in the last few months. Now just let her run with this kind of talent.
What do you think of Lynch’s recent months? Will the match with Rousey take place at WrestleMania? Let us know in the comments below.
