I really need to write this stuff down. A wrestler’s name can determine the direction of their career, as you never know how someone having the wrong name can mess up their momentum forever. Some of the better names in wrestling history have reached near iconic status, but there are others which do not work in the slightest. It doesn’t help when a name keeps changing, which is the case for a second time with the same wrestler.
The Coronavirus pandemic caused a lot of changes in WWE over the course of this year and some of those changes are going to be around for a long time to come. One of the few that came and went was the introduction of some low level wrestlers who came and went over the course of just a few weeks. These people just fell off the map, but one of them might be back under another new name.
According to Wrestlinginc.com, Brendan Vink, whose name was changed to Tony Modra earlier in the year, is now going by Vink again. The name change comes after an Australian rules football player named Tony Modra said he felt disrespected by his name being used. Vink has not wrestled or appeared on WWE television since May 11. There is no word on when he will be used again.
You might not remember him. Check out Vink’s time in WWE:
Opinion: This is one of those moves that isn’t likely to mean all that much but if the previous name was going to cause some problems, changing it back is the best solution. Vink did not get to do much on Monday Night Raw but at least he got his face out there. If that is the case, why change it to something completely different that is just going to make it more complicated?
What do you think of Vink? Will he ever be back on the main roster? Let us know in the comments below.
