They Noticed Him: AEW Wrestlers Reportedly Want Released WWE Star To Sign With Company

He’s on the radar. There are all kinds of talented wrestlers throughout the world and it can be interesting to see what happens when one of them jumps to another promotion. Seeing a wrestler moving into free agent status can open up a lot of doors and now it seems that one wrestler had drawn interest before they had even been let go by their promotion in the first place.

Earlier this month, WWE released dozens of wrestlers, including Shelton Benjamin. According to Fightful Select, several AEW wrestlers are hoping that Benjamin will join the company. Some wrestlers had hoped AEW would pursue Benjamin earlier this year, when it was falsely rumored that Benjamin’s WWE contract would be expiring. There is no word on if AEW is interested in bringing him in or if Benjamin is interested in wrestling there.

Opinion: Hiring Benjamin would certainly make a lot of sense as he is one of the more experienced high level wrestlers out there today. Having Benjamin in some kind of a backstage role or working as a producer or something like that would be a good use of his talents as well. If Benjamin is interested in coming in to AEW, there are far worse people they could hire.
