They’re gone. The biggest wrestling story of the year has been the sale of WWE to Endeavor, making the first time the company’s ownership has changed. This is the kind of thing that has put us in uncharted waters and left fans wondering just how things would fall out. Now we have a better idea, as some of the company’s long time stars have been let go from WWE.

WWE has released several Superstars from their contracts. So far, nine names have been let go from the company and there is still the chance of others being released as well. Here are the names released so far today:

Rick Boogs
Aliyah
Mustafa Ali
Emma
Top Dolla
Riddick Moss
Elias
Shelton Benjamin
Dolph Ziggler

This comes after WWE laid off over 100 office employees last week, though those releases are said to have been completed. Any 90 day no compete clause would wrap up on December 20.

Those are some big names. Check out some of them in WWE:

Opinion: While having that many releases is a surprise, there is something to be said about WWE getting rid of that many wrestlers who have not been very active in recent months. I don’t remember the last time a lot of them were in the ring. Hopefully they all find a place to go, but that might not be the case for everyone involved. Wrestling spots come at a premium, and I’m curious to see where some of them wind up.

Which of these is the biggest surprise? Where do you see them all going? Let us know in the comments below.
