They had an idea. WWE has been expanding its international slate of events with several shows taking place outside of North America. This has led to some interesting situations, as fans around the world are getting to see major events for the first time ever. That was the case again over the weekend with Backlash, but it turns out that WWE could not do what they originally planned.

Backlash, along with the previous night’s SmackDown, was held at the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France. According to Post Wrestling, WWE had been hoping to hold the events in Paris but no venue was willing to accommodate them. This is due to the Summer Olympics, which will be held in Paris, beginning in less than 100 days. There is no word on when WWE will be returning to France.
They got some good stuff. Check out what happened at Backlash:
Opinion: That makes sense, as while WWE is a huge deal, there are other things that are more important going on in the country. The good thing is that Lyon was more than a success, with the fans absolutely going nuts for everything that was taking place. WWE almost has to be thrilled as even though the show wasn’t in Paris, it was more than good enough all things considered.
