Maybe next time. This week’s Monday Night Raw marked a new beginning for both this show and SmackDown, as the new rosters were officially locked in place after the annual WWE Draft. As a result, new faces were expected to pop up for use in a variety of spots but that did not wind up happening. It turns out there is a very simple reason for that and it is not something you might have guessed.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: That’s Why: Details On Why Some King And Queen Of The Ring Matches Are Not On TV

This week’s Monday Night Raw focused on the King And Queen Of The Ring tournaments, with six first round matches. According to Fightful Select by way of Wrestlingnews.co, there were multiple NXT callups backstage at the show but they were not used due to everything that was already scheduled for the show. Ilja Dragunov and Lyra Valkyria were both used, with the rest expected to start soon, perhaps even next week.

We got some good stuff. Check out what happened on the show instead:

Opinion: That is the danger that can come with having back to back weeks with important things taking place. The Draft came just a week before the tournaments started and those tournaments matches ate up a lot of time. It’s probably better for WWE to give it some time and wait on things rather than forcing them onto a packed show. If nothing else, it prevents the new stars from being forgotten on the night.
