Down time. Injuries can derail anything in wrestling as you never know when someone is going to be put out of action. This can change all kinds of plans in the blink of an eye, including if a match has already been advertised. That was the situation earlier this week with a prominent match and now we know a bit more about what is going on, which isn’t the best news.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Dakota Kai announced that her Damage CTRL stablemate Asuka was injured and was unable to compete in the Queen Of The Ring tournament. Kai would go on to compete in Asuka’s place, losing to Lyra Valkyria in her place. According to Fightful Select, Asuka’s injury is legitimate, though she was backstage at Monday Night Raw this week. There is no word on the nature of her injury or when she will return to the ring.

She’s a big loss. Check out what Asuka can do:

Opinion: That is terrible to hear as you never want to see someone get injured in wrestling. Asuka is one of the better stars in all of WWE at the moment and having her on the shelf is going to be quite the blow to the women’s division. Hopefully she can get back in the ring sooner rather than later, but for now, it should be interesting to see who steps up to fill in her spot.

What do you think of Asuka? Who could take her place in her absence? Let us know in the comments below.
