It’s a shame he didn’t show up. The last few months have not been kind to Monday Night Raw. The recent shows have not been well received and while there are several problems, one of the biggest issues has been the lack of star power. WWE has had problems creating new top names, though they certainly have a long backlog of them. One of the biggest of all time was backstage at this week’s show.
According to PWInsider.com by way of 411mania.com, John Cena was backstage at this week’s Monday Night Raw, though he did not appear on the show or before the live crowd. There is no word on why Cena was at the show, though he could have just been visiting as the show was taking place in Los Angeles. Cena’s most recent appearance for the company was at WrestleMania 35 when he appeared and attacked Elias.
Cena still has it. Check out his appearance at this year’s WrestleMania 35:
Opinion: Cena is one of the biggest stars in WWE history and while I would have liked to see him on Monday Night Raw this week, it makes sense to not put him on the show with no hype and nothing to do. I don’t know how many more times Cena is going to wrestle again, but with those appearances coming so infrequently, WWE has to use them sparingly, which is likely part of the reason he didn’t appear this week.
