The way things change. Earlier this week on SmackDown Live, Daniel Bryan turned heel and defeated AJ Styles to become the new WWE Champion. It was quite the surprise after everything that Bryan has gone through in recent weeks. This was a big change of pace and not something that a lot of people probably saw coming. The move changed some plans, but what were those plans going to be? Say for Bryan, at the biggest show of the year.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the original plans for WrestleMania 35 saw Bryan facing Shane McMahon. At the moment, the plans for a McMahon heel turn and a match with Bryan have been dropped, but there is always the possibility that plans could change. There is no word on what either of them will be doing at WrestleMania or if Bryan will still be champion by the show.
Now that’s a heel turn.
Opinion: I’m not sure on this one and it’s quite the relief if those were the original plans. I know McMahon is considered a big deal, but I really could go with never seeing him wrestle again. The matches aren’t all that great in the first place and he gets such a big spot on the card when so many other people could benefit from the same spot. Just don’t cram him down the fans’ throats so much and it would be that much better.
