And she’s done. You will hear about wrestlers retiring every so often and the rate of following through with this is hit or miss to put it mildly. Some wrestlers will actually stay out of the ring but you will occasionally see someone pop back in later on down the line. Now though, an AEW personality is announcing that enough is enough and she is out of the ring for good.

Last week on AEW Rampage, Aubrey Edwards teamed with Mark Briscoe and Papa Briscoe to defeat Karen Jarrett, Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett in Edwards’ first career match. During an appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Edwards announced that she was retiring from the ring undefeated. Edwards cited not being able to walk around for two days without pain as a reason for her retirement. She will be continuing her work as a referee for AEW.

Opinion: While this certainly feels a bit tongue in cheek, it certainly seems like something that is rather entertaining at the same time. Edwards’ match was not treated as anything serious whatsoever so let her have a less than serious moment after the match as well. What matters here is having fun and that is what Edwards seems to be doing in multiple ways.
