Moving On: Edge Now Given Special Status On WWE’s Internal Roster

On the inside. Retirement is a complicated situation for wrestlers, as many of them have trouble finally hanging up their boots. It might seem like one of the easiest decisions to make, but there have been all kinds of wrestlers who seemingly finish their career, only to come back again. Now a WWE legend has apparently finished up with the company as retirement might be looming.

Back in August, WWE Hall Of Famer Edge wrestled the last match on his current WWE contract, though he is still officially with the company until the end of the month. According to PWInsider.com, Edge has been moved to the Miscellaneous section of the WWE internal roster. This section is for wrestlers who are associated with WWE but not actively wrestling, including names such as Steve Austin, Undertaker and Big E. This comes amid rumors that Edge may sign with AEW when his current WWE deal expires, though this is just a rumor at this point.

Opinion: That’s not the biggest surprise as Edge seems to be done wrestling for WWE, at least for the time, and now we get to wonder where things are going from here. At the end of the day, Edge is in his mid 40s and has a long history of injuries. He got to wrestle his friend in his hometown in what might be his final match. If that’s how he’s going out, he’s leaving in a good way, or at least moving to another part of the WWE roster in a good way.
