There’s something to this idea. This week’s episode of “Monday Night Raw” featured a main event of Sasha Banks challenging Charlotte for the Raw Women’s Title, along with Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns and the New Day putting the Tag Team Titles on the line. Some combination of that worked as, according to Showbuzzdaily.com via Wrestlezone.com, the audience for “Monday Night Raw” was the second highest since the NFL season began on September 12. The only night to beat it was Goldberg’s return on October 13.
The audience for the show had the following hour breakdowns:
8pm – 9pm: 3.163 million viewers
9pm – 10pm: 3.130 million viewers
10pm – 11pm plus overrun: 3.039 million viewers
The hourly numbers going down isn’t out of the ordinary but the show retaining that many viewers by the end of the show certainly is. Banks vs. Charlotte might be a repetitive match that some fans are getting tired of seeing but that doesn’t seem to be the case with the masses. “Monday Night Football” featured two popular teams with a matchup of the Green Bay Packers vs. the Philadelphia Eagles.
