It’s never too late to change things up. With less than a week to go before TLC, there is still time to make some changes to the card. Coming into today the show had two Tables, Ladders and Chairs matches, a ladder match and a tables match, but no chairs match. However, just like the ladder match, there was the chance to alter a regular match and turn it into something different.
According to WWE.com, the previously announced Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio match at TLC will now be a chairs match. Over the last few weeks, Orton has attacked Mysterio with a chair multiple times, including crushing Mysterio’s throat by wrapping the chair around his neck and sending it into the post. This week on SmackDown Live, Mysterio retaliated with some chair shots of his own.
At least Mysterio got his chance. Here’s Mysterio’s attack on Orton from this week’s show:
Opinion: Makes as much sense as anything else. Mysterio vs. Orton is perfectly fine for a match to add to the card and giving it the chairs stipulation works as well as anything else. You never can tell how long Mysterio is going to be around and healthy for so putting him in the ring with big names makes sense. At least they’ve been using the chairs for a little while now to set this up.
