It’s just a day in the lift. John Cena has become one of the biggest stars in the history of wrestling and now he’s becoming a pretty big star in the mainstream entertainment world as well. This has included a variety of acting roles, but sometimes the two worlds collide. While he was a full time WWE star, Cena became the most frequent granter of Make-A-Wishes in the program’s history. Now, that is earning him a rather cool honor.

As announced on his Twitter account, Cena will be lighting up the Empire State Building in honor of his Make-A-Wish accomplishments. The building will be lit yellow as part of the promotion of Cena’s upcoming movie Bumblebee, as part of the Transformers film series. Cena has granted over 500 Make-A-Wish requests, putting him above all other celebrities in the history of the program.

Cena certainly has earned this. Check out this look back at one of his big milestones:

A look back at John Cena’s 500 wishes with Make-A-Wish

Opinion: Whether you love Cena or not, this he’s earned quite a bit of respect after everything that he’s done for charity. The amount of time and effort that it takes to do something like that is remarkable and literally something that no one else has ever done. Yeah this helps promote one of his movies, but it also helps promote the charity, which is what matters most.
