I guess he wasn’t ready for Asuka. Earlier this year at WrestleMania 34, Charlotte defeated Asuka, handing Asuka the first loss of her WWE career. The result was fairly surprising but the belief was that she would be back. Well after that, it was a pair of losses to Carmella as Asuka’s career started to trend down. Since then though she has bounced back for a spot in an upcoming pay per view title shot, but what brought her up that fast?

According to Fightful.com, the reason for Asuka’s renewed push is due to Vince McMahon being surprised by the crowd reaction when Asuka was suggested as a replacement for Becky Lynch at Survivor Series. Asuka’s reaction was stronger than Charlotte’s, which took McMahon by surprise. Since then, Asuka has been added to the upcoming Tables Ladders and Chairs match at TLC for the SmackDown Women’s Title.

Well what else could we look at here? Check out the reaction that got McMahon’s attention:

Becky Lynch chooses her replacement to face Ronda Rousey: SmackDown LIVE, Nov. 13, 2018

Opinion: Why yes he does listen to the crowds. I know that might not be the most believable statement in the world but it seems to be the case here. Asuka may not be as popular as Lynch (But….who is?) but she’s popular enough to warrant something bigger than just roaming around the women’s division with nothing to do. Maybe she can go even further, because it’s not like there isn’t a background there already.

How far can Asuka go? When will she become Women’s Champion? Let us know in the comments below.
