Welcome to the future. NXT is one of the most important places in all of wrestling. It’s the place where the future of the WWE comes under the same umbrella for the first time and often leads to some of the best shows of the year. At the same time, the talent in NXT is designed to be called up to the main roster at some point. Therefore new talent needs to be brought in, and that’s why they recently held a tryout.
WWE held another tryout for potential NXT recruits this week, the first American tryout of the year. The full list of participants is available at the link, with some of the highlights being former Lucha Underground and Impact Wrestling star Ivelisse Velez, Lance Anoa’i of the famous Anoa’i wrestling family and Emily Andzulis, the female champion of the first season of the Rock’s Titan Games. There is no word on if any of these participants will be offered a contract.
Velez almost made it big in Impact. Check out her tryout match from Impact Wrestling:
Opinion: There are a lot of names on here that could be interesting, though most of them seem to be more long term prospects. I’ve been a fan of Velez for a long time and Anoa’i has all of the right connections to go with his talent to make a run. Hopefully we’ll be seeing some of these names in the future as NXT is always needing to add in some extra talent to the roster.
Which of these names has the brightest future? Who will make it to NXT? Let us know in the comments below.
