Now that we know. We are in the middle of the traditional holiday season and that can make things extra tricky for wrestling promotions. With the audience not exactly at its most attentive, companies have to find a way to draw in fans’ attention without burning through content that will not have the biggest audience. WWE has another idea next week but it isn’t the most traditional.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Update On WWE/Warner Brothers Discovery Negotiations, Pros And Cons Of A Deal
This week on SmackDown, WWE announced that the December 29 edition of the show will be a Best Of edition, featuring top matches and moments from throughout the year. The December 25 edition of Monday Night Raw will also be a Best Of event, as announced earlier in the week. NXT will be the only of the three main roster WWE shows to run a new episode, though the show will have been taped in advance.
They have a lot to live up to. Check out some of this week’s show:
Opinion: This was something that seemed all but guaranteed as there were no TV tapings set up between now and the first show of 2024. At the same time, it is nice to have the wrestlers and fans getting a little breather between the holidays. Let them come back with a lot less on their plates and see how much better the show feels with everything going that much better.
