It’s official. Last night at “Summerslam 2017”, it was made clear that Braun Strowman was coming for Brock Lesnar and the Universal Title. Lesnar retained the title and survived the onslaught, but it was obvious that Strowman was going to be a big deal in the very near future. It turns out that future is a lot closer than it seems.
As announced tonight on “Monday Night Raw”, Lesnar will defend the title against Strowman at the upcoming “No Mercy 2017” in the main event. The show takes place on September 24 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. This will be the first time that Strowman has had a one on one match for the Universal Title.
Here’s how it was all set up.
Braun Strowman attacks Universal Champion Brock Lesnar: Raw, Aug. 21, 2017
Opinion: Oh yeah this works. At the end of the day, this was the only possible match to go with coming out of “Summerslam”. Strowman manhandled Lesnar and wasn’t involved in the finish, making him look like the star of the match. There’s no reason to wait on this match and let Strowman cool off at all, so doing it at a B level show is more than fine. It’s likely going to steal the night and that’s the point of a main event.
Who do you think leaves with the title? If Strowman doesn’t beat Lesnar, who will? Let us know in the comments below.
