Thus, it is complete. We’re less than three weeks away from Crown Jewel and that means we need a major drawing card for the show. With so many names available for the event, one of the best ideas seemed to be a tournament, which is exactly what we’re getting. The World Cup Of Wrestling will be held at Crown Jewel and as of this week, we know everyone who might take home the trophy.
This week on SmackDown Live, the final two participants in the World Cup Of Wrestling were set as The Miz and Rey Mysterio qualified. The Miz defeated Rusev in less than forty five seconds thanks to interference from Aiden English. Later in the show, Rey Mysterio pinned Shinsuke Nakamura to complete the field. The two of them join John Cena, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler in the tournament.
Welcome home and you’re in.
Opinion: I know it’s not likely to mean much but at the same time they’re certainly putting in a heck of a lineup that could give us some interesting matches. The tournament is going to be the majority of the show’s card and there’s nothing wrong with that. Just let us have some good wrestling and try to make the tournament winner go somewhere as a result and everything will be fine.
