He’s back on the market. One of the most interesting things that can happen in wrestling is a wrestler leaving a promotion. It presents a variety of questions, such as what happened, why are they leaving, where are they going, and will they be back. That seems to be the case again at the moment in Impact Wrestling, with a top name possibly leaving the promotion at a big moment.
Last night at Bound For Glory, Austin Aries lost the Impact Wrestling World Title to Johnny Impact. According to Petey Williams on The Wrestling Perspective Podcast, that was Aries’ last match with the promotion as his contract is up. After the match was over, Aries popped to his feet before Impact was up, flipped off the crowd, and walked out of the arena in a hurry as Impact looked at him.
If so, farewell?
Opinion: If that’s it for Aries, it was a good way to go out. It’s not like he has anything left to do in the company as a three time World Champion. The loss wrapped up his story with Impact very well and if there’s nothing else for him to do, he might as well move on and let someone else get the spot. That being said, if he sticks around, he could certainly be valuable to the company in various ways.
Do you think Aries is gone? If not, what do you want him to do? Let us know in the comments below.
