That’s one of the big ones. There are different ways to make a match feel important and one of the easiest is to put something on the line. While the most common idea is a championship, there are multiple ways to go, including having more than one thing at a time on the line. That is the case again, as both a title and something possibly more valuable are up for grabs.
Over the weekend, Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) presented its Homecoming event. During the event, GCW World Champion Jon Moxley successfully defended his World Title against Effy. Following the match, Moxley demanded real competition, with Nick Gage answering. Moxley agreed to face Gage at a date to be determined, but insisted Gage put his career on the line as well, with Gage accepting.
Opinion: This is one of those things that is always kind of interesting as you have Moxley, also the AEW World Champion, in a huge feud on a show that is never referenced or discussed on AEW TV. It is this entirely different world with a serious feud and that makes for some big moments its own, as Gage may not be for everyone but he certainly is a huge name in GCW.
