He’s a crossover star. WWE has dominated the wrestling world for a very long time now and there is nothing to suggest that is going to be changing anytime soon. However, there is now another promotion on the national stage with the rise of AEW. That has created more of a battle for talent and that was on display again this week, as AEW signed another former WWE star.

AEW President Tony Kah has announced that Parker Boudreaux has officially signed a deal with the company. Boudreaux had appeared with the company in recent weeks as part of the Trustbusters, including this week on Rampage when he defeated Sonny Kiss. Boudreaux was signed to NXT until earlier this year, where he wrestled as Joe Gacy’s associate Harland.

Opinion: This is a weird signing for AEW as Boudreaux hasn’t done much of anything in wrestling, including in NXT, but is now on national TV. That is not something you see very often and I’m not sure how well this is going to go. Boudreaux maybe a surprise and it could wind up going somewhere, but the headline is certainly an odd one to see and possibly not in the best way.

What do you think of the signing? How will Boudreaux do in AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
