If the recent rumors of financial trouble weren’t bad enough, “Impact Wrestling’s” ratings took a huge hit this week despite coming off “Bound For Glory 2016”. According to PWTorch.com, this week’s show drew 305,000 fans, down 16% from last week’s numbers. The previous three weeks averaged about 369,000 viewers.

The show did face some stiff competition from Thursday Night Football, Major League Baseball Playoffs coverage and various other network TV shows. However, the previous weeks’ shows have faced the same sort of competition and none of them took this much of a hit in viewership.  The show had a stacked card with multiple title matches including the World Heavyweight Title being defended and even changing hands.

There’s really not much of a good way to spin this. Coming off “Bound For Glory 2016”, the show should have seen an increase or at least held steady. It seems to boil down to the fact that people aren’t interested in seeing the fallout from the biggest night of the year. TNA is in a bad state at the moment and their lone TV show being down that far isn’t going to make potential investors happy. Maybe things can pick up in the coming weeks but this isn’t a good sign.
