Change of plans. There are a lot of ways to present a wrestler, but at times it is clear that something needs to be changed. That can be done in a variety of ways, but one of the easiest is by turning them either good or bad. These changes can be out of nowhere or over time, and both kinds can be very effective. We saw one of the former this week and it worked pretty well.
This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite opened with Hangman Page’s celebration for winning the AEW World Title. Page was eventually interrupted by new #1 contender Bryan Danielson, who was not pleased that Page defeated Kenny Omega. Danielson went on to insult both Page and the crowd, turning into a villain for the first time in his AEW tenure. There is no word on when Danielson vs. Page will take place.
This could be a very dangerous change. Check out what Danielson can do in the ring before he went to the dark side:
Opinion: This is one of the best things that AEW could do in this situation. I could imagine the original plan being Jon Moxley but that was derailed due to Moxley entering rehab. Turning Danielson isn’t a difficult task and he is already there by taking out Evil Uno. Just let him do that to the rest of the Dark Order until the title match with Page. After that is over, you can easily turn him back if you want to. It’s the best they have at the moment and it should work well for everyone.
